Can you imagine what it would be like to live out your passion each and every day…a dream that allowed you to bring joy to people as well as provide for your family? Then imagine what it would be like to have it all abruptly end with no hope of ever returning? Acadiana native son and Louisiana Hall of Fame inductee, Glen Guilbeau, knows all too well that when life threw such a curveball his way, he had no choice but to adapt. In July of 2007, Glen suffered a massive cerebral stroke. Since, he no longer has simultaneous use of both hands, which means he can never perform music publicly again, he suffers from weakness in his legs, and he struggles to communicate his thoughts due to speech limitations. It has been a struggle for Glen but also for his wife Nancy and their 20 year old son, Lukas. They now face another challenge in their new journey, they are in danger of losing the only home Lukas has ever known.
Knowing of their struggles, a fellow friend and local musician approached Glen with the idea of holding a benefit in his name to help raise funds and rallied up the troops. The community of musicians in Acadiana has always been so giving and eager to help and again they extend their voices and talents to help a friend in need! Please spread the word and come enjoy a killer show for a great cause!!!
